SKYSWARM is a Swarm Autopilot

a system that enables a user to control a fleet of autonomous aerial drones through the influence of one vehicle.

In its physical embodiment, the autopilot system is distributed—just like the group it controls—but enables a user to control the group as a single entity.  

The swarm autopilot concept consists of two main aspects. First, the information of the control directly applied to one of the vehicles diffuses through the group as a scalar property. This establishes an abstract topology sloping towards specific agents. Second, other vehicles autonomously respond to gradients on this topology. The smooth topology of control ensures stable dynamic response, and gradient-based response allows control of the whole group by controlling only one individual.
